To the Finish Line

Hi Friends & Family,
We still don't have a cure or a vaccine to help prevent the spead, so this spring I'm back at it—raising money for vaccine research benefitting the Emory Vaccine Center and other Atlanta-area AIDS service organizations that will one day make HIV/AIDS a thing of the past. After missing last years ride due to the pandemic, this year is a little different too. Instead of riding 200 miles over two days with all my rider friends, this year we're on our own to reach my 200 mile goal over several weeks.
I am riding not only to raise awareness and help fund a cure but also for those that are not able to ride. I ride for the 34 million who have died from AIDS related causes, the 37 million who live with HIV globally, and for the countless many that will be saved by the vaccine. Latest figures show 1.1 million people in the U.S. are living with HIV with nearly 40,000 new diagnoses occur annually according to 2016 statistics. While great strides have been made in both the treatment and prevention of the disease, a vaccine continues to be the best hope to end this pandemic.
I also ride to be part of a community. Action Cycling Atlanta and all of it's members, sponsors, and participants have collectively become a second family to me. Our goal of ending HIV/AIDS is first and foremost. But we do more than cycle and fundraise. We support one another throughout the year both on and off the road, so I ride in honor of all of them as well!
Please consider donating to this worthy cause. Any amount, large or small, is greatly appreciated. All money raised is fully tax deductible and 100% goes directly to the Emory Vaccine Center since corporate sponsorships underwrite the entire cost of the event.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
