Welcome to My Personal Page
Hi friends and family,
As we all know I am a bit impulsive, so with that being said I have committed to participating in the AV200 bike ride. Which will be benefiting the Emory AIDS Vaccine program.
Yes, this is a 200 mile bike ride. Which I did say I would participate in without owning a bike. Do I own one now? Yes. Thankfully I won't need to do all 200 miles over the two day stretch. Fingers crossed that I am able to reach my own goal of 30 miles each day.
I am extremely lucky to have my company sponsor me and other riders at BCG. I keep telling myself it is for a good cause when I realize what I signed up for.
A bit more about the the fundraser:
The AV200 is more than just 200 miles of cycling — it’s pedaling with a purpose. Action Cycling Atlanta has already donated over 3 million dollars to the Emory Vaccine Center and other beneficiaries.
Researchers at the Emory Vaccine Center have made extraordinary progress on preventive and therapeutic HIV vaccines. Your contribution will help support these vital efforts. 100% of the amount raised will be used to fund groundbreaking work such as:
Developing vaccines that prevent an HIV negative person from acquiring the disease, and at the same time help an HIV positive person fight the infection without anti-viral drugs.
The LifeForward clinical trial, at Emory Vaccine Center's Hope Clinic, is designed to test efficacy in a vaccine to prevent transmission of HIV. The Hope Clinic is currently one of the top three enrolling centers nationally in the LifeForward clinical trial.
Working to reinvigorate the body's immune system to fight chronic infections like HIV and reduce dependence on anti-viral drugs.
You can help me reach my fundraising goal of $500 by donating to support me in this challenging 200 mile bike ride from Atlanta to Rock Eagle State Park. Donations can be made by check payable to Action Cycling Atlanta and sent to Action Cycling Atlanta, PO Box 8276 Atlanta, Georgia 31106 or visit www.actioncyclingatl.org to make a secure online donation. You can also learn more about the ride by visiting the website.
