Thank you for honoring Matt. It was his expressed wish that the AV200 be a beneficiary of any honoraria.
This would have been Matt's 5th AIDS Vaccine 200 Ride. It took a bit of prodding, but once he finally committed to riding 200 miles over two days, Matt was all in! He not only completed each ride, he topped the individual fundraising list each and every year he rode, raising over $75,000 for HIV/AIDS research at Atlanta's Emory Vaccine Center.
Matt's impact, though, was far greater than financial; he was a key member of this special community of committed athletes, sponsors and volunteers. Matt always had a kind word for his fellow riders and went above and beyond to make new people feel welcomed. His quiet, constructive, behind-the-scenes nature was his great gift to this organization.
The entire Action Cycling Atlanta family thanks you for your support and, more importantly, for remembering Matt.
He will be with us each and every mile as we ride to end to HIV/AIDS.
